This fort was built on top of a hillock, as the ruler has just shifted his empire from the Juna to the present city Barmer. Hillock means the fort or the palace is surrounded by hills on all sides and provides safety. The king constructed the main entrance gate in the north direction and had made safety durg in the east and west directions. There is an entry fee that has to be paid when you go to visit this temple. For the Indian nationals it is INR 20 for adults and INR 10 for children and INR 100 for international tourists.
