The Brahma temple which is the only temple in the whole of India is located in the Pushkar town of Rajasthan. Pushkar is known to have around 80 small and big temples. Some of these small temples were demolished or broken by the mughal invasions but were again rebuilt by the rulers of these places.
Out of these temples is the most famous temple, the Brahma Temple which was built back in the 14th century. This temple was built by the sage Vishwamitra after the completion of the Brahma Yagna. This temple has been through various renovations all done in the medieval ages and by the rulers of this place.
It is believed that the place where the temple stands was chosen by lord Brahma himself. It is said that Goddess Saraswati(Savitri), the wife of Lord Brahma had cursed him and told him that he will be only worshiped at this place on earth. Hence this temple was built and is known to be a temple with utmost importance to Hindu Pilgrimage.
The architecture of the temple is designed in such a way that it speaks volume of the hard work of the artisans and also aligns with the modern designs of this century. It is said to be believed that when you are visiting Pushkar, you should first take a holy dip in the Pushkar lake which will be followed by a blissful visit to Brahma Temple and then followed by the visit to Gayatri temple who was the consort of Lord Brahma.

The morning aarti or Mangala Aarti is done two hours before sunrise, Sandhya aarti is held 40 mins after the sunset and the Ratri Shayan Arti is done 5 hours after sunset.

1 Pushkar Lake– This is a lake that was created after Lord Brahma had used his lotus as a weapon to kill one of the asuras. The petals of the lotus fell on this place creating the lake and later on led to Lord Brahma come and perform a yagna in this holy place. This lake is surrounded by ghats and is situated in the city of Pushkar. There are about 52 bath ghats surrounding this lake and are visited by hundreds and thousands of pilgrims during the Kartik Purnima period(October-November). This is a period during the most famous “Pushkar Fair”.
2 Shri Savitri Mata Temple– As mentioned in the history that this place holds a special place as the thy believe that after Goddess Saraswati cursed all the gods including Lord Brahma, she went on to settle in the Ratnagiri hills and turned herself into a river and waterfall. So when you visit this temple, you can go and visit this waterfall which is called “Saraswati Jharna”. You can get to the temple through steps and a ropeway.
