Seeing the historic wins of the Battle of Haldighati; thai lake is situated 18 kms away from Udaipur. This lake was constructed by Maharana Udai Singh in 1565. This lake gets its water from the river Ahar. There was a dam constructed on this river which resulted in the formation of Udai Sagar. There were a lot of battles that were fought on its banks. Maharana Udai Singh fought and never surrendered to Akbar on the river bank. It is said that on 24 January, 1680 Aurangazeb visited Udai Sagar Lake and ordered demolition of all the temples on the river embankments. Since the lake is on the outskirts of Udaipur, it is a tourist attraction for people who are environment lovers.
