Foy sagar lake that was created to overcome the famine situation in 1862. This lake is a man made lake and was constructed in a flat pan shape amidst the Aravalli Hills. Foy sagar lake was constructed by an English man named Foy. This lake is home to beautiful sunsets. This place is a good winter picnic spot for the localities of Ajmer.
In a recent update of events and through the source Rajasthan Patrika, it has been announced that the name of Foy lake which is a 132 years old constructed by the British government has now changed and will be named Varun Sagar. This announcement was made by the cabinet minister on 12th of February, 2025.
