Bundi Utsav, also known as the Bundi Festival, is a culture and tourism event that happens every year in the city of Bundi in the Hadoti region of Rajasthan, India. This lively festival shows off Bundi’s rich culture history, traditional arts, and historical importance. Every year, it happens in November and lasts for three days. Both local and foreign tourists come to see it. You can get a feel for Rajasthani culture during the three-day Bundi event.

Date: 08th to 10th Nov 2025

The first people to take part in this event were there in 1995. The rough plan for it was made in 1995, and the first Bundi Utsav took place in 1996. At that time, Madhukar Gupta, who was the Bundi District Collector, took the lead in getting regular people involved with the event. The festival has become one of the most anticipated culture events in Rajasthan over the years as it has grown in popularity.

A lot of different events and activities make up the Bundi Utsav, a lively holiday that shows off Rajasthan’s rich cultural history. People who come to Bundi can enjoy its customs, art, music, and foods while taking in its festive atmosphere.

    • Cultural Processions: At Taragarh Fort in Bundi, people worship Lord Ganesha to start the event. Grand processions with painted camels, horses, and elephants wind through the streets, bringing back Rajasthan’s royal history and making things even more exciting.
    • Crafts Bazaar: A busy market has been set up at Government Senior Secondary School with a lot of fabrics, jewellery, pottery, and traditional crafts that are all made by hand. Tourists can look at real Rajasthani crafts and talk to trained artisans.
    • Cultural Performances: At Chaurasi Khambon ki Chhatri, people are mesmerised by traditional Rajasthani folk music, dance, and theatre. A lot of talented artists from all over the area get together to show off their work.
    • Rajasthani Food: At the festival, you can try real Rajasthani food, like Katt Bafla, Gatte ki Sabzi, Dana Methi ki Sabzi, and Kadke, which are famous dishes made especially for people from other countries.
    • Fun things for tourists to do: Besides cultural events, people can go on heritage walks, take guided tours of historical places, and take part in fun competitions like tug-of-war, moustache contests, turban tying, pot races, horse races, and camel races.
    • Deep Daan Ceremony: As part of the Deep Daan Ceremony, thousands of clay lamps are lit and sunk into Nawal Sagar Lake, creating a mesmerising sight for the people who are taking part in this spiritual ceremony.
    • Painting Workshop: A workshop for drawing and painting is held at Sukh Mahal, which is on the beautiful shores of Jait Sagar Lake. The workshop gives people a chance to show off their artistic skills.
    • Village Safari: On the last day of Bundi Utsav, people from all over the world go on a village safari through Theekarda village to learn about the traditional clothes, way of life, and culture of Rajasthan.
