IPL 2025 Points Table: The overall rankings of the top 5 teams in the IPL 2025 season points table have not been affected by the match between the Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants. There have only been two position changes, and they both involved the Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians. Following their defeat, the Mumbai Indians dropped one slot, but the Lucknow Super Giants gained one spot as a result.
After winning all of their games, Punjab Kings are now atop the 18th season of the IPL’s points standings. The Delhi Capitals are in second place with a net run rate that is just lower than Punjab’s, despite having won two of their last two games. With two victories from three games, Royal Challengers Bangalore is currently ranked third. With two victories from three games, the Gujarat Titans are now in fourth place. The Kolkata Knight Riders, who have played four games and won two of them, are also in the top five.

IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya Cracks Into Orange & Purple Cap Leaderboards
There is a new name at No. 2 on the Purple Cap chart, but not much has changed at the top of the Orange Cap scoreboard in the 2025 Indian Premier League. Following Friday night’s 12-run victory over the Mumbai Indians (MI) by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), here is our daily look.
Orange Cap leaderboard
Even though he only managed 12 runs versus MI, Nicholas Pooran of LSG managed to stay atop the run-scorers’ leaderboard with 201 runs from four innings. In the first three games, 75 from 30 balls against the Delhi Capitals (DC), 70 from 26 against the SRH, and 44 from 30 against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), excellent effort was done. His strike rate, which stands at 218.47, is still high, considering that the 12 versus MI came from just six balls.
Following his 49 off 36 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), B Sai Sudharsan, the opener for the Gujarat Titans (GT), is currently ranked second. In the two previous games, Sudharsan scored 74 and 63. With 186 points overall, he is only 15 points behind Pooran, and a strong showing in the upcoming game might give us a new table-topper.
After a brief slump, Mitchell Marsh is back at No. 3. His outstanding performance against MI, which included a 60 off 31 balls, was crucial in ensuring LSG’s victory. In four innings, he has now scored 184 runs. Marsh has hit a half-century each time he has stepped out, but there was a duck against PBKS.
Purple Cap leaderboard
Noor Ahmad, a left-arm wristspinner for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), still holds the Purple Cap after taking nine wickets in three games, including his best-to-date 4 for 18 against MI in CSK’s opening match.
MI captain Hardik Pandya is ranked No. 2 because to his better economy rate than the man who comes behind him on the list. Starting with 2 for 29 against GT and then 1 for 10 against KKR, he has been among the wickets taken in IPL. However, his true breakthrough came on Friday against LSG, when he swept through the batting order with 5 for 36. The victims—Pooran, Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram, David Miller, and later Akash Deep—were also not a bad bunch.
Before Hardik’s five-for came Mitchell Starc’s five-for (the only two so far this season), which took Starc’s tally to eight from just two games for Delhi Capitals (DC). He got 3 for 42 in his first game, against LSG, but ramped it up in the next, against SRH, and got his career-best T20 returns – 5 for 35.
