Right from the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026, there have been many moments where the audience is seen going crazy over the win, biting their nails when the other team is performing well, and celebrating India’s win per match and also celebrating the final victory as the host country. The tournament started on 7th February and ended on 8th March with India playing against New Zealand. The ICC is in charge, and it is India and Sri Lanka who come together to host. The format went as Group Stage, Super 8’s and Knockouts.

A Sneakpeak into the Final Match between India and New Zealand, 2026

8th March was a day that has been written in the history of Indian Cricket. It was a day for which every Indian was hyped up. All of us were rife as the match was about to start at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against New Zealand.

The game started with live music of Sukhbir Singh, Ricky Martin and Falguni Pathak. After the tunes captains came out for the toss – NZ won it and decided to bowl, so India were on the batting ladder first.

India went solid. The leading order, which had Sanju Sampson and Abhishek Sharma, smashed the ball. They took the game to 98 overs in 7.1, before the first wicket fell at 52 off 21 balls. Sampson smashed 89 out of 46 before he got out, and Sharma hit a great strike rate. Their partnership was industry standard and well-appreciated.

After that, India targeted New Zealand 256. NZ chased but fell short, scoring 159 in 19 overs before they were all out. India won the title again, keeping their undefeated streak intact.
