This prachin mandir is located at the bottom base of the pearl mountain (Moti Dungri). The idol of ganesh ji is a sindoor coloured idol with the trunk on the left side. There is a large idol of the Mushak Raaj, the vahana of Lord Ganesh in front of the idol. The devotees offer sweets, ladoos and other prasads to Bappa.
The idol of mushak is carved out of stone and it has lattice work on the carved structure giving the idol a magnificent look. In the hindu culture, there is a belief and a ritual that is followed from a very long time and that is of inviting ganesh ji to all the new ventures or things we would be starting. After completing the new work or by just entering into a sacred marital bond, the couples and the business partners are advised to come and worship the temple.
They say the location of the temple is self decided by Lord Ganesh himself. When the idol was brought to Jaipur on a bullock cart, the king had mentioned that where the cart stops first, he will make a temple there. So when the cart stopped at the place where the temple is located at present, the king decided to build the temple at that very location.
