Early Life & Education:
Deepika Padukone grew up in Bangalore, India, despite being born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Both her mother, Ujjala Padukone, is a travel agent and her father, Prakash Padukone, is a former world badminton champion. Following in her father’s footsteps, Deepika competed at the national level in badminton before deciding to pursue a career in acting and modelling.
She went to Bangalore’s Sophia High School before enrolling at Mount Carmel College. She also studied acting at Mumbai’s Anupam Kher’s Acting School.
Career:
Modeling & Early Career (2004–2006)
Deepika started out as a model and became well-known in 2004. She starred in commercials for companies including Close-Up, Dabur, and Liril before joining Kingfisher Calendar as its face in 2006. She became even more well-known after appearing in Himesh Reshammiya’s “Naam Hai Tera” music video.
